Cycling in this area is very active, both in recreational form as well as competitive (including races, triathlons, and duathlons).
Cycling in Huntsville/Madison County
The Spring City Cycling Club (SCCC) is the primary organizational force behind the sport of cycling in the Huntsville/Madison County area. The SCCC was formed in 1892! They organize a wide variety of bicycling activities suitable for all biking enthusiasts. There are club sponsored rides every week throughout the year. The club participates and promotes bicycle advocacy for Huntsville and the surrounding areas. The club organizes an annual USCF race in the summer and a century tour in the fall.

The Spring City Cycling Club promotes and endorses highway, road, street planning, etc. that provides continued access and routes for bike travel and recreation in the Huntsville, AL area and across the country.

Monthly meetings are held at Logan's Steakhouse on in southeast Huntsville at 7:00 PM on the 2nd Monday of each month.

Another all volunteer group is Bike Across Magnificent Alabama (BAMA). BAMA is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization. Volunteers donate hundreds of hours and drive thousands of miles eacy year planning scenic rides to various points of interest throughout Alabama.
