the gold #4 car is GT40 P/1016 (MKII) (Donohue/Revson) at the '67 Daytona Continental. This was one of the Holman-Moody entries. The blue #2 car is GT40 P/1015(MKII) (Bucknum/Gardner), also at Daytona '67, and was a Shelby prepared car. I can't say for sure that these pics were taken at Daytona, but the pics are of the cars in Daytona '67 trim. Note the yellow rear spoiler on #2, possibly as an ID feature. The red #24 car is AMGT40/2 and is Sebring '66 trim (most likely photographed there). The Essex Wire Ford GT is GT40 P/1038, driven by McNamara/Grossman at Sebring '67. They finished 8th. bf43 is J-4. The car was originally white/blue and was tested in Ford's wind tunnel in early Feb '67. After some body panels were changed (based on the tunnel test results), it was painted yellow and became the first MKIV to race, winning Sebring (its debut race). bf34 is GT40 P/1012, one of three Shelby prepared cars entered at Daytona in '67. Due to faulty transmission output shafts (proper word there!), this was the only MKII to complete the race, doing so with a gearbox borrowed from J-4, which was tested there and happened to be around at race time. The red GT40 is GT40 P/1047, interestingly, the only MKII to carryover its same body color and race # from one year to the next. This is at Daytona '67, and the car also wore red #3 at LeMans in '66. Note the "MERCURY" sill stripe. This was one of 3 Shelby American entries at Daytona '67. The bronze #5 car is GT40 P/1031, one of 3 Holman-Moody entries for that race (Daytona '67). The Scuderia Bear GT40 is GT40 P/1029. Race #23 indicates it was photographed at Sebring in March of '66. It was destroyed at practice at LeMans later that year (16 June). bf8 is a bit of a mystery. Based on the (fictitious) registration "GT40PR" and the color, this is GT40 P/1013, the first road coupe. But it lacks the radio antenna associated with this car above the windshield center. Also, I didn't know the car appeared in the US. Did this car REALLY have a NJ license plate? That's unusual, too. I'm gonna make a fairly educated guess on bf48. The roof vents tell me that its a MKII, and the silver color with the two thin black stripes tells me that this is GT40 P/1046, at Daytona '67. This car is actually the winner of the '66 LeMans 24 hours. Mike, This is probably more than you wanted to know... GT40 P/1013, the silver road coupe...there are several pictures (including its "formal" portrait outside FAV) that show it without the radio antenna above the windshield, so I think its safe to say that it was later added. The bit about the NJ license plate blows my mind! Especially on a GT40 that was never thought to have been in the US! Is there any other information on this car from Bill, or the license plate? I'm very curious... GREG PS- By the way, many thanx to you and to Bill for providing these. They've actually helped quite a bit already.
