newly formed Huntsville Sports Commission was founded in 1999 by Mayor Loretta
Spencer. The purpose of this commission is to attract events to the City of
Huntsville, Alabama that will benefit our region in the areas of economic
impact and quality of life; maximize the utilization of our existing
facilities; and promote our city as a growing center of athletic competition.
