Huntsville and Madison County is a thriving mecca for the sport of basketball.

All three local colleges have successful basketball programs : Each of the 11 public and 4 private high schools in the Huntsville/Madison/Madison County area have basketball programs (Boys, Girls).

Each of the 20 public and many private middle schools in the Huntsville/Madison/Madison County area have basketball programs (Boys, Girls).

The city of Huntsville Adult Basketall League runs from December to April of each year. Games are played at Berachah Gym, 3011 Sparkman Drive in Huntsville.
